Sorry for the long awaited post.. Didn't realise there would be people coming to visit haha at the same time wasn't really looking at the market and stocks as well. Has been an agonizing month for April. Market is confused both on the US as well as SG. This week however seemed different on SG. Asian indexes has been going up not alot but seem a little bullish and people are getting slightly positive. However, though it seems it looks like we are on an uptrend i feel it's not time to really fully invest your money yet. Past few days i did enter a long position and today close to breakeven.
I can't give details on why the asian market went up today. SG market loves to follow others because we are not strong enough apparently to be independent. In a way pros and cons, so if you do see an upside in the asian markets SG will likely to follow suit so in a way its like a lagging indicator.
What's going to happen the next few days? I'm not to sure myself. Hopefully it will continue to go up but take note that it would retrace back and up again. If it's an uptrend.
Anyway, side track a lil. I was reading one of Rev Samuel Doctorian book. And there were angels who visited him and told him of things to come. I won't go into much details but one was the US worldly market was going to fall. When I don't know? But the other prophecies has been fulfilled. Skyscrappers fall (9/11), earthquakes, drought, famine, floods... happening now... signs of the return. Amen

Market Sentiments 03: 31 March - 4 April
It's my birthday. I'm happy people complimented on my cooking during the party :)
Well what am I going to do next week in trades? I did not do much reading up as I was busy with the party but just a quick and brief summary on how I feel.
Dow has gone down so has Nassy ( Nasdaq ) and S&P. Will STI go up? I don't know but God knows haha
Anyway I'm staying clear reasons why most of the stocks I've been looking at are in the stochastic overbought region. Not that I'm saying that you can't buy you can and price might still go up. But i would rather wait for a better chance where my profit margin is higher and risk is lower. I'm talking in terms of long though.
I need to spend more time with God cherrios. Commit everything to Him even if it's trading. Don't let the love of money overcome your love of God. God bless!

Reflection 02: Swiber & ST Engg (24 - 28 MAR)
What a week it has been :)
Dow not doing that good eh but Sgx doing pretty well. I'm sure many has or are making profit right now. I'm glad i did got out of my mess and learn new things as well.
Lessons Learnt
1. You need to analyse not only the US market (Dow, Nasdaq, S&P) but SG market as well. Do not always assume that when US goes up SG goes up as well or vice versa.
2. FA is just as important as TA, both work hand in hand.
3. Make sure the stock your buying has a reasonable amount of trading volume
By the way, I made a promise to God that whatever I earn I'll give 1 tenth back. :) So i did.

Omens point to market rise
Stocks look to extend gains next week in a post-Bear-Stearns world
Thank God at least a small piece of good news!
I hope to get out of the stocks I've entered. And I'm looking at which indicator to use to setup suitable system for myself to profit. As currently I'm too confused what kind of trader I am.. position or swing. In a sense that my mindset has always been a position trader however all my actions seemed to be pointing to swing.

Day Trader :Trades intraday. A stock trader who holds positions for a very short time (from minutes to hours) and makes numerous trades each day. Most trades are entered and closed out within the same day.
Swing Trader :A trader who trades the daily charts. Trades last 2-5 days.
Position Trader :A type of stock trader who holds a position for the long term (from months to years). Long-term traders are not concerned with short-term fluctuations because they believe that their long-term investment horizons will smooth these out.

Reflection 01: Swiber & ST Engg (17 - 20 MAR)
I would be posting twice this week as I have lots of reflection to do. But I would just edit this post.
19 Mar: It's only mid week and What a crazy week it already has been... and i think all traders would agree with me. After Dow ended on Fri, STI and asian market fell on Mon but not as bad as the previous. By end of Tue, STI went up due to asian market and us market. By Wed morning Dow had gone up by 400pts! I was like ok time to buy a quick one. So I did swiber and ST Engg looked good. Everything looked alright till afternoon everything just went wrong so wrong... I could do nothing about it as well I was at work so I could not stare at my screen and look at charts right. I'm not paid to trade...
Why did STI go down? That's my question... Once I find out I'll give my opinions.
22nd Mar: Have been busy these few days. Anyway the question has been answered. On wed what happened was morning STI went up as US market surged. Afternoon, European market went down causing STI to go down. What pushed STI down even more was Dow futures went down. I'm still holding on i know it would go up again but I know it won't break it's resistance just yet. I'll just pray and hope I would be able to take profit if I can.
Mistakes Made
1. Strategy was risky I was looking at short term trade, I knew what I was doing and what i had to do but the risk factor did not come into play.
Lessons Learnt
1. Do not go into a intra-day or short-term trade when you know you can't monitor the prices at work. And please don't do it behind your bosses back the entire day, it's ok if like its 10mins but alt-tab the entire day is so unethical...
2. Most Important!! I just remembered after losing money... The Trend Is Your Friend! Repeat after me. The Trend Is My Friend! The Trend Is My Friend! The Trend Is My Friend! And yes i apparently i traded against the downtrend. Hoping to earn on the short bull run.

Market Sentiments 01: 17 - 21 March
Please correct me if I'm wrong or share your opinions.
What's going to happen next week in US and SG Market?
On Fri, Dow closed 200pts lower. Would this affect STI terribly? What's even worse the Feds are having a meeting on Tue. Blimey!! Double whamy!!
Is STI going to fall to goodness know where? Or is the Asian market gonna stay strong?
Another thing to ponder about. Midas has closed another S$107Mil deal. Is it going to go up despite what Dow has done?
Stay Clear of the Market thats what I would do and wait. now is a good time to plan and enter at a good price using the gap and see what the fed says.
Cheers

My 1st Post, My 1st Trade - Midas
Bought my first stock in SGX-ST, sadly i made a loss from here I will review my mistakes and what I have learnt.
Midas
11th Mar: Midas went up and closed @ 0.900. My cousin did ask whether it was going up i told her if it does it will go up somemore. as the day before there was a doji star. I'm not really good at Jap candlesticks now, still learning
12th Mar: There was a rally in Sg due to the rise in US market overnight. Dow had gone up by 200 pts. Every single stock went up creating a gap. And up it went, so i bought in @ 0.945 went to a day high of 0.970 and closed at 0.945
13th Mar: Night before, US market went down as investors took profit. Went down some more and i cut loss as i made 0.900 my support
14th Mar: Today it has gone up again. This time round I'm going to plan to enter correctly.

Mistakes Made
- Did not plan the enter price and set a "no-effort" support
- I forgot to switch my daily chart to weekly thus could not find a proper support
- I was to anxious and entered early before MACD cross the signal line
- %K had not crossed the 20% mark yet
- Always prepare support and resistance before hand. Plan!!
- Stay calm and be patient, wait till indicators give the signal
- Sg market follows Dow and later in the morning Hang Seng (check before you buy). Like my cousin said Sg market is "kiasu" and "kiase"
